As continuing the woman's guide book, Full Frontal Feminism, Jessica Valenti shares her thoughts about certain topics that many might find controversial. These subjects may include: money, domestic violence, labor, birth control, abortion, and etc. In a humerous tone she elucidates these topics in wit and jokes. But there are times whenJessica is serious-mostly during the more demanding topics. Her message is universal. All though I must confess her opinions are far different than mine. Though our views are different, her points are considerable. But there were some points that we shared: Labor. Even though women are now able to work we are still being mistreated. In the words of Jessica Valenti" Some of the obstacles that existed decades ago are still around in force. Whether it's pay inequity, harassment, or outrights lies about the very existence of working women -we're still facing plenty of hurdles. "

Answer 1: As with anything that is as broad as this, Feminism is bound to have several factions that try to narrow down the definition, in the hopes of bettering it, and wind up with opposing views. Also, there are always some in a group as large as the Feminist group that don't have the best intentions. Though I believe that the majority don't believe that they are mistreating the meaning.
ReplyDeleteAnswer 2: Many women don't look on the dictionary to ease their curiosity. They turn to society, and it is society that holds the stereotypes and propoganda. Valenti, for example, didn't call herself, or even realize that she was a feminist until she began taking Women's Study classes.
